The Epilepsy Center of Excellence (ECoE) at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina specializes in comprehensive research, diagnostics and treatment services for Veterans with poorly controlled epilepsy and other seizure disorders.  Treatment options include antiepileptic drugs, epilepsy surgery, and neuro- stimulation.  Our facility includes a three-bed monitoring unit located in the Inpatient Medical Service.  We use state of the art long-term video EEG equipment for continuous EEG recording.


What We Do:
 • Seizure clinic, outpatient epilepsy education for patients and family
 • Long-term Electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring unit
 • Daily outpatient EEG clinics
 • Tele-health: Specialized treatment and diagnostics (like EEGs) without traveling to Durham
 
Patient Education:
A nationwide training for VA patients and caregivers to improve the health and well-being of Veteran patients with epilepsy and other seizure disorders are offered year round. Please click here to find out more.
